Easter craft!

Hey everybody! So in case you want to know, I got my mom addicted to Pinterest! Just like Jessica got her mom addicted, my mom is now too! Sometimes I feel like she’s on it more than me….which is definitely difficult because I feel like I live on there sometimes. Anyhow, she and I both enjoy crafts, so we decided to make one from Pinterest! It is an Easter wreath! Here is the result of what it looks like, and then I’ll explain what we did to make it!

The shape of the eggs was made by water balloons. We blew them all up to about the same size, and it was some work! Probably the least fun part of this whole project. We used 20 balloons.

Then we mixed 1/2 cup of flour and 1 cup of liquid starch (Sta Flo) together. Then one at a time we placed a whole skein of embroidery thread in the bowl of starch mixture and then wrapped it around the balloon. One skein was good for one egg, so we needed 20 of them. We let them dry overnight and wala!

Then in the morning we popped the balloons and we had a hollow egg! It could have been stringed together as garland, but we made a wreath by forming it around a small bowl. We then hot glued all of the eggs together.

It was a lot of fun for sure! It is definitely a decoration we will be putting up every year. Gotta show off all of our hard work right?

And in case you want really specific details to make this, here's the link to the blogger we followed the directions from! She deserves some credit, don't you think?
