New Term = New Experiences

Hello everyone,
Just an update about what I've been up to this trimester of college so far! I know all that heard what I did in college for the past year and a half thought all I did was smile and prance around the kitchen baking cookies and getting an easy A+ all the time! I thought this would fit well here...

And this is true...to some degree! (Ahhh pun...degree...college...haha) I'd have to ask my CIA friend Allie if her school looks at us as working in a fast food joint though..haha And as far as the last one, it is partially true. The kitchen is a scary place to be when things don't go according to plan. I will say I never got yelled at with someone THAT close to my face...maybe a few farther inches away :P

As far as this trimester, there isn't any new interesting cooking going on. Being in the Nutrition program, I will have to take some labs but now it is focused on healthy eating...what a concept! But right now I am in some pretty uninteresting classes....biochemistry, food service financial systems (accounting and business math stuff), business ethics, career capstone (resumes and stuff), and last but not least....culture and food! The last one is by far my favorite. I love learning about different cultures around the world and what foods they eat for what reasons and traditional dishes in certain countries. But enough about classes....

I'd have to say, a new thing I am starting to enjoy is country music! My friends Sarah, Amy and I went to a 'country' club a few weeks ago and I loved it! Here we are, all dressed up before we left.

The place is called the Grizzly Rose and there is constant country music, both live and DJ music. On the dance floor, there are people that know a bunch of dances and they just start dancing a certain dance with a few people and anyone joins in! There are usually easy and hard dances for every song so you can choose where you want to learn. I'd have to say, the next time I go I wanna have some cowgirl boots and I'll be all set.

Also, I went to a Blackhawks game here in Denver against the Avalanche! At this point they were still undefeated in regulation. That evening it all changed... :( But they are still awesome; I love watching the Hawks play....especially #19....TOEWS....my future husband, he just doesn't know it yet ;) But anyways, it was a lot of fun. I got to go with one of my close friends I met last year at school, Kristina!

She cheered for the Avalanche though...so it was a little hard getting in the same car with her on the ride home...(just kidding Kristina!) It was pretty awesome, and it seemed like there were just as many Chicago fans as Colorado fans! Cheering during the National Anthem gave me that vibe...it was so loud and awesome!

Finally, my new roommate this term is Amy! She is so fun and we get along super well! There's a lot of laughter going on, which is hilarious. Random stories, both imaginative and real stories, jokes about absolutely anything, randomly breakin' out N'Sync moves, and much more to come! But anyways, I thought I'd catch you up on my life, because it has been awhile.

I'll probably be posting some stuff soon about new crafts/food creations I make on my free time, and possibly some surprises as well!

And I'll leave you with this....just as my mom left with me before I came back to Colorado this term...

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
-Joshua 1:9

God Bless You Always!
