Weekend in the mountains

This weekend I got to go to the mountains! It’s the first time I’ve gone while being out here for college! Jessica’s parents, Jessica, some of her family and I met at Eldorado Canyon, a state park for lunch! Driving into the park was very cool; a little town with a dusty road was what we passed before entering. We had to pay to get in but it was so worth it. Even driving to our lunch location, on the side of the road there were rock climbers! They were very brave because it looked kinda dangerous.

When we arrived where we were going to eat, I saw we were at a picnic table right next to a beatiful river. Looking down the river with the mountains in the background was a sight to see . It was so calming, just listening to the water flow down the rocks.

We ate a nice lunch over the grill and had some yummy sides. It was so relaxing having a lunch like that at a state park with perfect weather. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. After lunch Jessica, her dad, uncle and I went for a hike in Eldorado canyon. It wasn’t a tough hike…especially since there were so many nice sights and plants to see. I’m so glad I brought my camera so I could remember all the beautiful sights….even though I’m sure I’ll never forget. The only thing I did wrong was wear moccasins while hiking…haha. I did get scared while on the trail because one of the hikers going in the opposite direction said there was a rattlesnake on the trail! If you don’t know, I am not the biggest fan of snakes!! Luckily we didn’t see it! Also there was a fake snake on a rock in the beginning of the trail and I freaked out a bit. It was funny…I suppose

Anyways, it was a very relaxing day after a week of school. I’m glad I was able to go there and I hope I can spend much more time in the mountains, just being able to relax and marvel at God’s creation.
